MOUNT JULIET, TN, June 4, 2026… Unaccompanied snare drum, the percussionist’s solo voice often spotlights highly technical compositions that require refined stick control, intricate roll structures, and strict dynamic changes, focusing heavily on musicality. The Modern Snare Drum Competition hosted by the Cleveland Institute of Music under the direction of Mark Demoulakis is the premier opportunity in the USA for young percussionists to showcase their solo talents.
